Alice's love for Revival Magazine began with an internship where she poured her love and attention into the magazine...
“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.” (Philippians 4:8 CEV)
Paul’s list of things to think about certainly challenges me. It can be easy to think negatively about all sorts of subjects, but we can change that through the power of Holy Spirit. I have been working on this lately, recognising negative thoughts I think over myself, and choosing to say positive things instead; choosing to see myself, others, and situations the way that God sees them. Honestly, it can be hard work, but so worth it. Recently, when subborn gloominess consumed my attention, I turned to this scripture in Philippians. It helped me once again re-focus on the goodness of my Saviour, and all the great things he’s brought into my life. We truly are transformed when our minds are renewed (Romans 12:2).
Take some time to consider about what you’re thinking about, and let Holy Spirit show you some ways your mind could be changed for the better. You could even write out a list of things that are true, honourable, just, pure, lovely, commendable, excellent and worthy of praise, then use that list to help you!
