“At midnight the cry rang out: ‘Here’s the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!’ Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps. The foolish ones said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.' ‘No,’ they replied." (Matthew 25:6-12 NIV)
In this day and age, the common message heard within the church might be on the end times, and the signs which appear to be occurring throughout the world on this matter. Our first response may be panic, or even excitement. However, why not first ask ourselves how can we bring revival to the nations, for God’s kingdom to be demonstrated and for people to be awakened to know His love?
Jesus has commissioned us to be a people who live in unity; just as He was one with the Father. We are to represent His heart by living as one Bride in preparing for the day when we will see Him face to face. How can we prepare our hearts for the day and the hour that we are unaware of? It begins with intimacy, in all that we do our hearts are to be a lined with His. Through our hearts being one with Jesus, we will then live in unity with His desires. Jesus shares in Matthew the parable of the ten virgins. This paints us a picture on the importance of preparing our hearts.
Jesus desires to know our hearts, He wants to know us today and not only once He returns. Why not commit to focusing on the heart of Jesus and begin to build a relationship where He can become your foundation? With Jesus as my foundation I can stand firm in my identity as a daughter who then knows nothing can be formed against me. In knowing our identities as loved sons and daughters we can represent to the world who He is, through chasing after His heart, and partnering with Him to advance His kingdom here on earth.
I desire to see individuals come to know who they belong to so they may live in the fullness of their identity. God has called us to step out in the calling and destiny He has for our lives in order for His heart to be represented throughout the world. Through a demonstration of love we are leading hearts closer to Him while Holy Spirit waters the seed that has been planted.
Are you willing to go after the goal that has been set before you? God has created you for such a time as this and there is a specific plan and purpose that He has for you. Therefore, why not take advantage of the opportunities we have waiting for us within our daily lives to advance His kingdom?
